The Durham Convention and Arts Complex*: Ground Plane/Surface Art, Sculptural Elements, Lighting Installations for the Durham Convention Center/Carolina Theatre Plaza  *“DCAC” – Durham Convention Center, Carolina Theater, The Armory and the Durham Arts Council

In addition to identifying artists to carry out the design and fabrication of this public art project, the DCAC is also seeking a Public Art Assistant – an artist or cultural worker living or working in Durham County who is interested in developing their public art management skills. The Public Art Assistant can be an artist interested in learning more about the management of public art or a cultural worker interested in developing skills as a consultant or manager.

The Public Art Assistant will work with the SmART Public Art consultant and the Durham Arts Council to provide administrative support for partner and artist meetings, community engagement, installation, and promotions.

Compensation
This is a temporary contract position for 40 to 60 hours total during a period from October 2021 – May 2022.  Compensation $20 per hour.  This job opportunity is funded through the DAC Arts Recovery Fund.
